I’ve lived in New Westminster on and off my whole life. For as long as I can remember there’s been a bakery at 444 6th st. but in recent years its passed though a new set of hands every few months and has continually looked like a pile of crap that’s never open. So imagine my bready joy to see it finally open up with some real gusto behind it! Bread & Borscht or Solodko Ukrainian Bakery officially is taking the bakery to a whole new level. They’ve got the usual breads and such but on top of that throw in a tasty lunch and esspresso bar with reclaimed wood floors and window benches and You’ve got yourself a spot that looks like it should be down on Main st. Packed with hipsters. The food is amazing, I won’t go into it, suffice to say if you like Ukrainian you’ll be sold.
